Lukaku said: “Most of the people in this room know me. I don’t like to beat around the bush, I will discuss this topic at the right time. But if I really tell what happened in Summer Window, everyone will be shocked. There were moments when I really thought I was going to explode. Five years ago, I probably wouldn’t have backed down, I would have acted. Right now, I’m focusing on what I do best, which is playing football. “I worked hard throughout the summer and I want to thank Naingeland because he helped me reach Roma.”

On the subject of receiving an offer from Riyadh Crescent in the summer, Lukaku said: “I am proud of their interest, but after initial negotiations I was not convinced that I should join Riyadh Crescent. Riyadh Crescent is the biggest club in the Middle East and the Saudi league will be one of the biggest leagues in the world, but I am not ready to leave Europe.”
