[Saba Sports News] In a mysterious incident, Australia’s Glenn Maxwell was hospitalised after a pub outing in Adelaide.
Maxwell attended a golf event before entering a pub to see former Australia pacer Brett Lee perform with his band Six and Out.
Unknown bizarre events led to him being taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he stayed only for a brief period and did not spend the night.
Cricket Australia (CA) is investigating the incident.
“Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information,” CA said as quoted in a statement.
Maxwell was earlier left out from the Australia squad for the ODI series against the West Indies. As speculations sprung on his exclusion, CA confirmed the incident is not behind it and that the all-rounder has been rested.
He is said to have joined the squad and will be available for the T20I series.
“It is not related to him being replaced in the ODI squad, a decision that was made following the BBL and based on his individual management plan. Maxwell is expected to return for the T20 series. No further comment will be made at this time,” the statement added.
