[Saba Sports News] Paqueta, a Brazilian international who plays for West Ham United in the English Premier League, is currently facing an investigation initiated by England’s Football Association (FA) over alleged match-fixing. He is accused of deliberately taking yellow cards in four Premier League games and helping 60 Brazilians win £100,000 in lottery money.

According to the media, Paquita was involved in games against Leicester City in November 2022, Aston Villa in March 2023 and Leeds United in May 2023 United) and a game against Bournemouth in August 2023.
The FA claimed that Paquita had deliberately booked the game in order to influence the betting market and allow some people to profit from it. Paquita could face a life ban if the FA finds him guilty. He was also charged with two counts of failing to cooperate with investigations.
In the face of the British media reports, Paquetta strongly denied, and issued a statement on social media, expressing dissatisfaction with the leak of information about the case. He noted that the information was completely false and appeared designed to damage his reputation. Paquita was concerned that constant leaks and publication of inaccurate information by the media would jeopardize his chances of a fair trial.
