[Saba Sports News] The Phoenix Suns brought in Bradley Beal during the offseason, aiming to bolster their lineup with a third star alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. However, their aspirations of forming a dominant trio have been hindered by persistent injuries.
In a recent game against the New York Knicks at Phoenix’s Footprint Center, Beal experienced a new injury, awkwardly twisting his right ankle as he was guarded by Knicks’ Donte DiVincenzo. Despite avoiding serious ankle damage, Beal is anticipated to be sidelined for several weeks due to this incident.
This injury occurred shortly after Beal’s return from a prolonged back issue, having just played in a game against the Golden State Warriors, a match Durant missed due to an injury. Beal had been out for 12 games because of his back problem prior to this return.
The Suns have struggled to keep their star trio on the court together, managing only two games with all three players before facing another injury challenge. In total, they have shared just 24 minutes of playtime this season.
Beal has been absent for 19 of the Suns’ 25 games. Booker also missed several games early in the season due to various leg injuries. Among the three, Durant has been relatively more available, missing only four games.
There was considerable excitement among fans and Beal himself about the potential offensive powerhouse the Suns could become with their new trio. Ideally, Beal would face less challenging defensive matchups when all three stars are active. Yet, having Durant, Booker, and Beal all healthy and playing together has proven to be a rare occurrence, almost as infrequent as a solar eclipse.
