[Saba Sports News] Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria expressed disappointment with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not including him on their list of leading wicket-takers in Australia. Kaneria, who has had a tense relationship with the PCB, pointed out this omission despite his significant achievements in Australian conditions.
The PCB’s list highlights players like Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Iqbal Qasim, Sarfraz Nawaz, Mushtaq Ahmed, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Mohammad Asif for their performances in Australia. Wasim Akram is noted for having the lowest bowling average among them. However, Kaneria, who took 24 wickets in five Tests in Australia at an average of 40.58, was not included. He emphasized this exclusion on social media, citing it as evidence of discrimination against him.
Kaneria, despite not being featured in the list for the lowest bowling averages, still holds the position of the fourth-highest wicket-taker for Pakistan in Test cricket overall. His performance in Australia included an average of 40.58 and an economy rate of 3.80.
In related news, the Pakistan cricket team is gearing up for a comeback in the second Test against Australia, scheduled at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 26. Led by Shan Masood, Pakistan is looking to recover from their substantial defeat in the series opener at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The team faces a challenging history against Australia in their territory, with their last win dating back to 1995. Additionally, they are contending with injuries, as Khurram Shahzad and spinner Noman Ali are out for the series. The squad includes players like Sarfaraz Ahmed, Imam-ul-Haq, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, and others, aiming to break their losing streak.
