[Saba Sports News] Australia batter David Warner is set to don the commentary hat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 as his playing career nears its end.
Warner is set to retire from Test cricket after the ongoing Sydney Test being played between Australia and Pakistan. He is already brought curtains on his ODI career but is still available for the Champions Trophy 2025.
As the southpaw has now become a T20 specialist, with plenty of time on his hands, he has chosen to take over the role of a commentator with his stint with Fox Cricket starting from the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, scheduled to begin in November.
“I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to join the Fox
Cricket team. I look forward to making an impact where I
can over the next 12 months. I’ll continue to play and it’s great to
know that once I finish my career, I’ll still be involved in the game
that I love, and the game that has given me so much,” said Warner as quoted.
Fox has added Warner to an already illustrious panel of commentators, consisting the likes of Adam Gilchrist, Isa Guha, Mike Hussey, Allan Border, Mark Waugh, Kerry
O’Keeffe, Brett Lee, Brendon Julian, Mel Jones, Mark Howard and Kath
Loughnan.
