[Saba Sports News] Japanese badminton star Sayaka Hirota is currently
preparing for the Paris Olympic Games. She recently announced her decision to
forgo surgery and opt for conservative treatment in order to prepare for the
Paris Olympics. Hirota will continue her partnership with Yuki Fukushima as
they strive for Olympic success. The duo is currently ranked fifth in the world
in women’s doubles and is considered Japan’s top contender for a gold medal. Previously,
Hirota and Fukushima had achieved the number one world ranking. However, their
performance suffered last year, and they were compelled to participate in
lower-level events, such as the Super 300, to accumulate ranking points. During
the Indian Masters tournament last year, Hirota sustained an injury to her knee
due to uneven court conditions. Subsequent medical examination revealed a
ruptured knee ligament. As a result, Hirota had to withdraw from three
consecutive tournaments. There were even rumors circulating that she might end
her career. In Hirota’s absence, Fukushima had to team up with other players
for various competitions. Now, driven by her Olympic aspirations, Hirota has
made the courageous decision to compete despite her injury. Her determination
is truly admirable, and her spirit serves as an inspiration to all players.
