Sports News] Valtteri Bottas, a driver for the Alfa Romeo F1 Team, recently
traveled to Australia to take part in the first Australian Tour Down Under
event, which was held from January 18th to 20th. This event, part of the World
Cycling Tour, attracted nearly 200 professional riders, including renowned road
cycling stars like Nathan Haas and Tiffany Cromwell. Bottas, known for his
passion for bicycle road racing, has often hinted in previous interviews that
he plans to pursue cycling after retiring from Formula 1. Last year, he even
launched the FNLD GRVL, a cycling event in his native Finland, showcasing his
understanding of what makes a great gravel race. Bottas mentioned that his
first experience participating in a bicycle race was in Australia back in
January 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, he intended to use
cycling as a means of exercise, but he unexpectedly developed a deep love for
the sport. Bottas encourages anyone interested in exploring cycling to
challenge themselves, push their limits, and join in the sport.
