1, securing 21 victories out of 22 races. Max Verstappen emerged as the
champion for three consecutive seasons, solidifying Red Bull Racing’s
commanding position. A crucial factor in their success was the mastery of
suspension and its interaction with the intricate underbody of the car, which
played a significant role in modern ground effect. This technical prowess
propelled Red Bull Racing to gain a substantial advantage in terms of speed.
Among the other teams, Ferrari stood out as the only competitor to secure a
race victory apart from Red Bull Racing. The media has bestowed high
expectations upon Ferrari, fostering optimism that they can challenge Red Bull
Racing’s leadership in the 2024 season. Recently, Enrico Cardile, the technical
chief of the Ferrari team, revealed that they are preparing to adopt a
different design approach compared to the Mercedes team. Mercedes has
introduced a completely revamped chassis for their 2024 car, effectively
harnessing the power of aerodynamics as a valuable asset. Cardile believes that
the suspension design, specifically its layout, plays a crucial role in
supporting aerodynamics. He indicated that Ferrari’s upcoming car, codenamed
Project 676, will feature a significant overhaul, encompassing approximately
“95% of the design new.”
