[Saba Sports News] With Max Verstappen’s long-term future uncertain and Sergio Perez continuing to underperform, Red Bull may soon have an open seat. Recently, according to Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, Australian driver Oscar Piastri’s manager Mark Webber is closely pushing for negotiations with Red Bull. At a media conference for the 2024 F1 Mexico City Grand Prix, Piastri directly addressed these rumors. He acknowledged that rumors about joining Red Bull are a “great compliment,” but he is very satisfied with his current position at McLaren and is happy working there with two years left on his contract, during which he does not plan to go elsewhere. Records show that Piastri’s contract with McLaren will expire at the end of 2026, and McLaren also holds priority renewal rights. Some fans commented that Marko leaks insider information weekly to disrupt other teams’ operations and other drivers’ mindsets. In response, one fan quipped: “If it weren’t for Marko’s comments, this week wouldn’t count as an F1 weekend.”
