[Saba Sports News] During last weekend’s F1 United States Grand Prix, McLaren’s Lando Norris and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen had an intense battle. At the start of the race, pole-sitter Norris was forced off track by Verstappen, allowing Charles Leclerc behind them to take the lead. Later in the race, when Norris attempted to overtake Verstappen, Verstappen defended aggressively at a corner, causing both to go off track. Since Norris completed his overtake outside of track limits, race officials deemed it a violation and imposed a 5-second penalty on him. Although Norris crossed the finish line in third place, he had to relinquish that position to Verstappen after serving his penalty. McLaren expressed strong dissatisfaction with this penalty result and officially protested Norris’ 5-second penalty. If McLaren wishes to overturn Norris’ penalty at the US Grand Prix, they must prove that they have discovered new and significant evidence.
