[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, no Premier League club has committed to holding summer series matches in the U.S. Insiders from the Premier League revealed that clubs are having discussions and are optimistic about a positive outcome, but no confirmations have been made yet. Reports indicate that there are still many issues to resolve regarding preseason matches in the U.S., such as Manchester City and Chelsea participating in the Club World Cup and being unable to attend. Then there’s the issue of money and how to provide an attractive option for teams like Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal that won’t lack offers. Any additional revenue would impact clubs in terms of profits and sustainability rules (PSR). It is reported that the Premier League is considering a plan where Manchester United and Liverpool will form four to six teams for preseason warm-up matches, with each team competing for £6.3 million in prize money. Smaller clubs have less market share in the U.S., so their expectations may be lower. Manchester United and Liverpool likely believe they can generate more revenue if they arrange their own matches, while smaller clubs may feel uncomfortable.
