[Saba Sports News] At the award ceremony of the US F1 Grand Prix, the Heroo trophy specially designed by tire supplier Pirelli did not make an appearance. It is reported that the design of this Heroo trophy is too similar to Bearbrick’s violent bear sculpture, leading to allegations of copyright infringement. Therefore, Pirelli decided to forgo using the Heroo trophy during the award ceremony. The trophy held by champion Charles Leclerc and the small tires held by Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen were airlifted from one of Pirelli’s US offices. The Heroo trophy was created in collaboration with Italian artist and designer Matteo Macchiavelli and Pirelli Motorsport, featuring a bear image that suggests drivers raising their arms in celebration through human silhouettes. According to the designer, this trophy interprets the connection between racing and its tires; it is also an artwork that links beauty and elegance with the excitement, speed, and quality of Formula 1 materials.
