For now, Tropang Giga is still waiting for the winner between Barangay Ginebra and San Miguel Beer to determine their opponent in the best-of-seven grand final. TNT will use the time off to rest while remaining in top shape for what is expected to be an uphill battle for the PBA’s first title in its 49th season.
Tropang Giga was the first to book a ticket to the finals with a 113-95 win over Rain or Shine Elasto Painters on Friday night to close out the semi-finals 4-1.
“We have to go back and make sure we take advantage of this time,” TNT coach Chot Reyes stressed. There are two sides to this break: you can become dull and lose your sharpness, or you can use it to recover well and stay sharp.”
“So now the onus is on our coaching staff and our players to be ready for whatever we might face next. No matter who it is, both teams are strong.”
