“I’ll be fine,” he responded humorously when asked about the sprained ankle he suffered in the second quarter of Game 4 on Wednesday night at Smart Araneta Arena.
Indeed, the dynamic 25-year-old foreign aid continued to play well after his injury, contributing 27 points and 11 rebounds in a 131-121 victory that helped tie the series 2-2 in the best-of-seven series.
Anosike was a big presence on the floor, shooting 9 of 16 from the field and 2 of 3 from 3-point range, especially when he scored 14 points in the third quarter to help SAN Miguel pull away from the slumping Ginebra Kings.
SAN Miguel coach Jorge Gallent agreed Anosike’s injury was not a concern.
