[Saba Sports News] Last weekend, the F1 US Grand Prix was in full swing, where rookie Liam Lawson replaced Daniel Ricciardo to represent the AlphaTauri team for the first time. However, a small incident occurred during the race. Both he and Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso were positioned quite far back, and Alonso aggressively inserted himself into Turn 1 during the subsequent qualifying session, nearly causing a collision between the two. Alonso then angrily called Lawson an “idiot” over the team radio. Alonso felt that since they were far from the front positions in the sprint race, this battle was “unnecessary.” He believed Lawson’s driving style was very prone to causing accidents. This incident not only showcased the fierce competition and emotional fluctuations among drivers during the race but also sparked thoughts about race rules and driver behavior. In intense races, drivers need to remain calm and rational to avoid letting emotions affect their performance. At the same time, event organizers need to strengthen supervision of driver behavior to ensure fairness and safety in the competition.
