June Mar Fajardo scored 29 points to lead five other teammates in double figures, sending the contest into a new two-game tiebreaker with the next game on Friday.
“I challenged them in practice yesterday that they had to go out there and play with a lot of energy and a lot of effort to have a good chance of winning, and they responded very well,” Gallent said.
“They gave it their all and deserve a lot of credit and I hope they continue to do so in the coming games.”
Fajardo was particularly impressive, scoring 14 points on just eight shots in last Sunday’s 94-94 loss to Ginebra, but he made 12 of 15 shots and grabbed 16 rebounds, showing the team’s resolve.
