[Saba Sports News] Klay Thompson is ready to handle the heat from his former teammate.
Now with the Dallas Mavericks, Thompson responded to recent trash talk from Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, who promised to “run through [Thompson’s] chest” when their teams face off this season. In an interview with Rachel Nichols of FOX Sports 1, Thompson fired back.
“If so, I’ll take the two free throws,” Thompson said. “I’m a pretty tough guy, so I think I can handle it.”
Thompson, 34, spent 13 seasons with the Warriors, 12 of them alongside Green, sharing six NBA Finals appearances and four championships. While their bond is strong, their upcoming matchups this season, starting on Nov. 12 in Dallas, promise to be fierce.
With Green’s competitive nature, things could get even more intense now that they’re opponents.
