[Saba Sports News] Scotty Pippen Jr. is steadily making his way up. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Tuesday that the Memphis Grizzlies have signed Pippen Jr. to a standard multi-year NBA contract, a significant promotion from his previous two-way deal with the team.
The 23-year-old, son of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen and Larsa Pippen, went undrafted in 2022 after playing at Vanderbilt. Represented by agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, Pippen Jr. initially joined the Lakers but was waived.
Since joining the Grizzlies, he’s impressed, averaging 12.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game in 21 NBA appearances last season. He also excelled in the G League, posting 20.7 points per game over two seasons.
This promotion marks a solid step forward for Pippen Jr., who seems to have found his place with Memphis.
