[Saba Sports News] Mick Schumacher’s plans to return to F1 have taken a turn, as Audi’s new CEO Mattia Binotto has included him on the driver candidate list for 2025. In an interview with Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Binotto stated that since other teams have already confirmed their driver lineups for next year, there is no rush. Regarding future candidates, Binotto revealed that two basic points will be considered: experience, which can lead the team on a path of growth; and young, talented drivers who can accompany the team to its peak. When asked about Mick Schumacher’s situation, Binotto mentioned that he previously worked at Ferrari’s driver academy and knows his strengths and advantages, implying that Mick Schumacher has always been one of the team’s candidates and that in-depth discussions have already taken place, with the team sure to evaluate him positively. Media reports suggest that Mick Schumacher’s German background is his biggest asset, with his main competitors including current driver Valtteri Bottas and current F2 points leader Gabriel Bortoleto.
