[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Benjamin Mendy has now taken Manchester City to court, claiming £11 million in unpaid wages and stating that several other City players also attended the party. In August 2021, Mendy was suspended by Manchester City due to allegations against him, and during the waiting period for his trial, he was denied £6 million of his annual salary. Last year, Mendy was acquitted. Now, Mendy is suing Manchester City, claiming that the behavior of several City players was similar to the actions he was accused of. From September 2021 until the expiration of his contract, Manchester City did not pay Mendy any wages, as the club believed he was unable to work normally while on bail and awaiting trial. During questioning, Mendy admitted that he attended a party when he should have been resting. However, he stated in a declaration: “Like other Manchester City players, I was ready, willing, and able to fulfill my duties. Manchester City knew they also attended the party, but for them, I acted recklessly. I do not know if Manchester City deducted wages from other players, even though it was well known that those players attended the party. Therefore, I believe it is very unfair for Manchester City to treat me differently when what I did was no different from what other City players did.”
