[Saba Sports News] Known for his upbeat personality, Jared McCain was all smiles after his NBA preseason debut with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The rookie logged nearly 28 minutes, scoring 15 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out three assists while shooting 5-14 from the field, including 4-9 from deep against the Breakers. McCain’s quick release and shooting accuracy impressed head coach Nick Nurse, who praised the young guard’s ability to find space and score off screens.
Despite a solid training camp, McCain had some shaky moments on defense and a few miscues during the game, but Nurse was pleased with how he settled in. “He made about three mistakes as fast as you could make ’em, but he was gonna play a lot tonight regardless,” Nurse said.
McCain, thrilled to live out his NBA dream, said, “This is everything I’ve lived up to. I feel like I’m in 2K. To put on that jersey tonight, there was no other feeling like it.”
