[Saba Sports News] Ted Leonsis recently took aim at former franchise star Bradley Beal. In an interview with Mike Unger of MoCo360, the Wizards owner discussed the backlash over his failed bid to move the Wizards and Capitals to a new arena in Virginia.
When asked about the criticism, Leonsis singled out Beal, who voiced his disapproval of the proposed move after being traded to the Phoenix Suns.
“Everyone has their problems,” Leonsis said. “Bradley Beal had a no-trade clause and wanted out. After we announced the move, he went online saying, ‘You’re making a big mistake.’ I thought that was unnecessary, but I kept quiet.
Then Phoenix made the playoffs and got swept in the first round, and now there’s a lot of criticism of Beal. That’s life—if you criticize, be ready to take it back.
