[Saba Sports News] After the Celtics wrapped up a dominant playoff run, finishing 16-3 and winning their first NBA title since 2008, Shaquille O’Neal voiced doubts about the competition they faced along the way.
Speaking on “The OGs Show” with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, O’Neal said, “We all know Boston had the easiest run ever to that championship.
” While he acknowledged the Celtics’ success, he posed a challenge for the upcoming season: “You had an easy run. It don’t matter. You won it. Can you back it up?”
O’Neal highlighted potential threats from teams like the 76ers, Bucks, Magic, and Heat, and pointed out that many of Boston’s playoff opponents were missing key players, including Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell, and Tyrese Haliburton.
While the Celtics’ win was impressive, Shaq believes their true test will come when they face tougher competition next season.
