[Saba Sports News] According to a statement from La Liga, the Argentine judicial system has ordered Google to prohibit the use of the Magis TV application, thereby blocking all domains associated with illegal internet TV services. Once the infrastructure of Magis TV is blocked, the application will be prohibited from reloading in the Android environment. Additionally, devices that had downloaded the application prior to this ruling will be disabled, which has not occurred in any final ruling worldwide. La Liga stated that Google “plays a key role as an intermediary in the entire chain of audiovisual fraud,” and employers estimate that “if cooperation occurs, piracy could be reduced by up to 80%.” The case was initiated by the Anti-Audiovisual Piracy Alliance (Alianza) based on its 404 action objectives. Following the ruling, La Liga committed to supporting UFEIC and Alianza’s investigation with a technical report, “given that its content was stolen from various publishers by Magis TV.” The Spanish Audiovisual Anti-Fraud Group and the Argentine representation compiled reports and evidence related to the case, which have been submitted to the prosecutor’s office.
