[Saba Sports News] Former Irish football legend John William Aldridge recently spoke about England star Jack Grealish in a media interview. Grealish once represented Ireland at youth level before switching to England, which has left many Irish fans dissatisfied. Aldridge expressed particular discontent, believing that Grealish grew up under the development of Ireland’s youth teams but ultimately chose to play for England’s senior team. He feels that wearing an Irish jersey is an honor, and Grealish’s decision has caused great disrespect among Irish fans. It is understandable for the Irish national team and its supporters to feel betrayed, as they had high hopes for Grealish to represent Ireland and bring honor to the country. However, Grealish ultimately chose to play for England, which has left them feeling very disappointed and angry. Grealish was born in Birmingham, England, and obtained Irish citizenship through his grandparents. In 2014, he declined a call-up from the Irish senior team and officially announced his commitment to England in 2015.
