[Saba Sports News] Last weekend’s F1 Italian Grand Prix saw the McLaren team perform strongly, with their two drivers finishing second and third. However, there was a puzzling moment during the race when McLaren did not let Oscar Piastri yield to Lando Norris in the final stages, which could have helped Norris close the gap to Max Verstappen in the driver standings. After the race, McLaren team principal Andrea Stella was interviewed, and his comments seemed to provide an answer. Stella said, “We must not forget that Piastri is in his second season in F1, and his performance has been incredible. There is no doubt that the future belongs to him.” This statement clearly indicates that McLaren may value Piastri more than Norris. Piastri has achieved significant success in racing, winning his first career title at the 2024 F1 Hungarian Grand Prix, becoming the first driver born in the 2000s to stand on the highest podium in F1.
