[Saba Sports News] Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards expressed frustration with the officiating following a narrow victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Edwards, who was pivotal in the Timberwolves’ 107-101 win at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, led his team in scoring.
In his postgame interview, when asked about how the team secured the tough road win, Edwards quickly turned the focus to the game’s referees, openly criticizing them. He stated, “I don’t know how we won tonight,” attributing the difficulty of the game to a perceived lack of calls in their favor. Edwards even acknowledged his willingness to face a fine for his remarks, emphasizing the challenges posed by the officials’ decisions.
This victory helped the Timberwolves outscore OKC 34-24 in the fourth quarter, placing them at the top of the Western Conference. Edwards also mentioned a previous game on January 20 against the Thunder, where he felt the referees showed bias, especially towards OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Timberwolves lost that game 102-97, partly due to Edwards missing crucial free throws in the final minute.
