[Saba Sports News] Sven-Goran Eriksson, the legendary Swedish coach, has passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 76, his former agent announced. Earlier this year, Eriksson revealed in an interview that he had been diagnosed with cancer and had about a year left to live. In a documentary released by Amazon this month, Eriksson bid farewell to the world: “I’ve lived a happy life. I think we all fear the day of death, but life is indeed connected to death, and you have to learn to accept the essence of this. I hope people will say I was a good person, but I know not everyone will. I hope you’ll remember me as a positive person, someone who tried his best in everything. Don’t be sad about it; I hope you’ll smile. Thank you for everything you’ve done—coaches, players, fans, everything has been wonderful. Take care of yourselves and your lives. Goodbye!”
