[Saba Sports News] Caitlin Clark set another record on Sunday while leading the Indiana Fever to victory, earning high praise from a Hall of Fame basketball player.
Clark scored 23 points, dished out 9 assists, and grabbed 5 rebounds in the Fever’s 92-75 win over the Seattle Storm in Indianapolis. Her assists broke the WNBA rookie record previously held by Ticha Penicheiro.
Isiah Thomas, a Hall of Famer known for his playmaking, reacted to Clark’s achievement with admiration. “Let it be known that only a special few in our game’s history can score while assisting teammates,” Thomas wrote on X.
Clark now has 232 assists this season, with 12 games left to play, surpassing Penicheiro’s 224. Despite being called for a questionable technical foul, Clark’s day was capped off with a major compliment from a basketball legend.
