[Saba Sports News] Liu Yuchen, the men’s doubles badminton player who successfully proposed on the badminton court at the Paris Olympics. Yesterday, he posted a lengthy article on social media, officially announcing his retirement. In the article, Liu Yuchen expressed that badminton has accompanied him throughout his youth since joining the national team in 2012. After winning the silver medal in men’s doubles at the Tokyo Olympics, he had the idea of retiring. However, he couldn’t swallow this idea and believed that he could continue to fight on this stage and prove himself through victories. Although he didn’t achieve the honor of winning a Grand Slam in men’s doubles, his dedication and perseverance throughout this journey have already proven himself with his achievements. With the end of the Paris Olympics, his dream also comes to an end. In his 12-year sports career, his body has been completely overwhelmed. In order to perform well in the competitions, he often had to take painkillers, and in order to maintain a high level of training the next day, he frequently took anti-inflammatory drugs before going to bed. He has tried his best, but unfortunately, his performance on the court fell short of expectations. The new world can no longer carry his boat, so he needs to disembark first. He feels extremely honored to be a member of the Chinese badminton team and has achieved countless glories within this collective.
