[Saba Sports News] This week marks the 2024 F1 Belgian Grand Prix. Before the race, the FIA confirmed that Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda received a 60th-place grid penalty. According to FIA regulations, each driver can use no more than four power units per season. Tsunoda’s car used its fifth internal combustion engine (ICE), fifth turbocharger (TC), fifth motor generator unit-heat (MGU-H), fifth motor generator unit-kinetic (MGU-K), third energy store (ES), and third control electronics (CE) during the first practice session. According to Article 28.2 of the FIA Formula One regulations, each of these incurs a 10-place grid penalty, totaling a 60-place drop. Therefore, Tsunoda will start from the back of the grid in the Belgian Grand Prix. Some fans noted that given the performance of the Alpha Tauri car, it is challenging to finish in the top 10 in the Belgian Grand Prix; even changing just one power unit component would result in starting last, so it might be better to replace the entire power unit and prepare for the next race.
