[Saba Sports News] Russell Westbrook is joining a new team after being bought out by the Los Angeles Clippers.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Westbrook is signing a two-year, $6.8 million deal with the Denver Nuggets, with the second year being a player option.
Westbrook had been linked to the Nuggets, and they emerged as his likely destination after he was waived. He is expected to provide backcourt depth, especially after the departure of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Last season, Westbrook averaged 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game in 68 games with the Clippers. The Nuggets will be the 35-year-old’s sixth NBA team.
