[Saba Sports News] The Haas F1 Team has signed a multi-year contract with French driver Esteban Ocon, starting in 2025. Ocon will become the first driver to have won a Grand Prix for the Haas F1 Team since its establishment in 2016. It is reported that Ocon made his F1 debut in 2016 and clinched the championship at the 2021 Hungarian F1 Grand Prix while driving for the Alpine F1 team. Throughout his F1 career, Ocon has participated in 146 Grand Prix races, accumulated 425 driver points, and stood on the podium three times. His best result in the driver’s standings was eighth place at the end of the 2022 season. This season, Ocon has finished in the top 10 three times, at the Miami Grand Prix, Canadian Grand Prix, and Spanish Grand Prix. Interestingly, Ocon’s first experience driving an F1 car was with the Lotus F1 Team in 2014, when he tested the E20 at the Valencia Circuit in Spain. On that day, the engineer overseeing the test was the current team principal of Haas, Ayao Komatsu. Ocon expressed his happiness at working with Komatsu Reio again, as he was a part of his F1 debut.
