[Saba Sports News] The news of seven-time Formula
1 world champion Lewis Hamilton potentially transferring from Mercedes to
Ferrari in 2025 has sparked considerable excitement among car enthusiasts.
Interestingly, keen-eyed fans recently discovered that Ferrari had dropped a
hint about Hamilton’s impending move three days prior. When Ferrari announced
its collaboration with the beer brand Peroni on January 30, an Easter egg was
missed by many. The promotional poster featured a red car with the number 44,
reminiscent of the former Ferrari driver Maurice Trintignant’s No. 44 Ferrari
car. Trintignant had secured victory at the Monaco Grand Prix in 1955. F1
drivers select a permanent race number to use throughout their careers, which
can only be changed if they clinch the world championship. Hamilton, with his
number 44, has retained it despite winning seven world championships. In an
interview, Hamilton revealed the significance behind the number 44, explaining
that it represents the house number of his hometown and the number on the car
when he won his first championship. Some fans expressed admiration for the need
to be diligent and observant to excel as a detective in F1.
