[Saba Sports News] According to The Telegraph, executives of the Red Bull F1 team have issued an ultimatum to Sergio Perez, demanding that he improve his performance before the summer break or face the risk of being fired. It is reported that the Red Bull Racing Team has set an evaluation criterion for Perez: if he falls more than 100 points behind teammate Max Verstappen before the summer break, the team will consider terminating his contract. After the F1 British Grand Prix, the points gap between the two drivers has reached 137 points, and Perez’s ranking in the annual driver standings has dropped to sixth place. There are still two Grand Prix races before the F1 summer break, and Perez needs to work hard. According to the current F1 points system, the race winner receives 25 points, the runner-up receives 18 points, the third-place finisher receives 15 points, and the fourth-place finisher receives 12 points. In other words, in the next two races, Perez must secure at least one win and one third-place finish. Additionally, teammate Verstappen needs to score no points for Perez to avoid being fired.
