Sports News] Recently, Mali coach Eric Cheller, who is leading the team in the
African Cup of Nations, revealed in an interview with the media that Yves
Bissouma and Moussa Diarra from the team have contracted malaria. Cheller
mentioned that people in West Africa are accustomed to dealing with malaria. He
stated that Bissouma and Moussa underwent blood tests, and although the situation
is not severe, they will be treated with care. He assured that there is no
widespread outbreak or other issues within the team. It was reported that
Bissouma can still continue playing football, but Moussa’s condition is
different. This is the first time Moussa has contracted malaria, and currently,
he can only participate in light training. Unfortunately, Mali was subsequently
eliminated from the African Cup quarter-finals after losing 1-2 to Ivory Coast.
As a result, Bissouma and Moussa can now return to their respective clubs for
recuperation.
