[Saba Sports News] The New York Knicks-Indiana Pacers rivalry took center stage on Friday Night Smackdown at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Logan Paul brought out Pacers standout Tyrese Haliburton before his “Money in the Bank” qualifying triple threat match against LA Knight and Santos Escobar. Haliburton, a two-time All-Star, was greeted with boos from the MSG crowd, still remembering the Pacers’ elimination of the Knicks from the 2024 NBA playoffs.
However, the boos turned to cheers as the camera caught Jalen Brunson, recently seen in a heated second-round series against Haliburton’s Pacers, seated among the fans. Brunson briefly watched as Knight pinned Paul to win the match, but then joined the fray himself. Armed with a steel chair, Brunson approached the ring, prompting Haliburton to retreat.
Brunson, gaining a reputation as one of New York’s most beloved figures, further cemented his status with this WWE appearance, likely boosting his already high approval in the “Big Apple.”
