[Saba Sports News] The F1 movie “Apex,” directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt, is set to be released on Apple TV on June 25, 2025. Warner Bros. Entertainment has secured the distribution rights and plans to release it in the North American market on June 27, 2025. The film follows the story of a retired F1 driver who returns as a mentor, aids a young racer, and partners with him to compete for glory on the track. Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton also joined the production team as the racing technical advisor. Last year, the film’s production team shared behind-the-scenes photos taken at the Silverstone Circuit during the F1 British Grand Prix, showcasing a realistic recreation of the racing scenes. The F1 community, including all 10 teams, drivers, the FIA, and race promoters, was also involved. During this time, Pitt even personally drove an F2 car with an F1 racing livery on the track. It is reported that the film’s production cost is as high as US 300 million. To put this into perspective, the production cost of the Marvel movie “Avengers: Endgame” was only US 356 million. In my opinion, with such a significant investment, it will be challenging for a purely F1-themed film to gain widespread public attention and recognition.
