[Saba Sports News] Recently, the FIA officially announced significant updates to their rules. After thorough research and deliberation, they have added a new regulation: “The FIA may permit participation in single-seat racing competitions after careful consideration.” This new rule is particularly beneficial for 17-year-old standout driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Antonelli, who has sufficient application points and an FIA international Class A license, can now apply for a super driver’s license for official or test/free practice sessions under this regulation. Antonelli, the son of Italian touring car racer Mario Antonelli, has quickly risen in the ranks since entering formula racing in 2021. In 2023, he advanced to F2 after winning consecutive F3 championships in Europe and the Middle East. There are rumors that the Mercedes-Benz team might select Antonelli for a vacancy next season. If he obtains a super driver’s license, his chances of being selected will increase significantly.
