[Saba Sports News] Recently, Malaysian badminton player Lai Pei Jing reported through social media that she had fallen victim to a phone scam, which has sparked significant concern among fans. Lai Pei Jing stated that the hard-earned money she had accumulated over more than ten years was fraudulently taken by a scam group, greatly devastating her. Currently, she is constantly reflecting on the incident and plans to thoroughly review the entire scam when she has a clear mind. Lai Pei Jing hopes that her experience can serve as a warning to others and prevent further victims from being deceived. According to Malaysian media statistics, as of the 2023 season, Lai Pei Jing’s total career earnings are estimated to be no less than 1 million ringgit. When considering her sponsorship income, her savings are estimated to be around 2 million ringgit. It is evident that the losses incurred from this telecommunications fraud incident have been quite substantial for Lai Pei Jing. Information reveals that Lai Pei Jing specializes in badminton mixed doubles and has been partnered with Tan Kian Meng since 2016. They achieved consecutive victories in two World Badminton Tour championships at the beginning of their partnership, making them Malaysia’s hope for mixed doubles. However, their growth did not progress as expected, and it was not until 2022 that they ended a five-year championship drought by winning the Korean Badminton Open. This remains their most prestigious championship title to date.
