[Saba Sports News] Following the Singapore Badminton Open, Indonesian men’s singles player Anthony Sinisuka Ginting expressed his confidence in an interview with the media. Although Ginting had an uneven performance in the tournament, exiting in the second round, he remains determined to end Indonesia’s 20-year wait for an Olympic men’s singles gold medal. Currently ranked seventh in the world, Ginting won a bronze medal in the men’s singles competition during his first Olympics in Tokyo three years ago. He now sets his sights on achieving better results in the upcoming Paris Olympics. Ginting stated, “The goal is a gold medal, which is more important than the previous Olympics. Bringing victory to my family provides extra motivation to be prepared and fully focused on the game.” Badminton is Indonesia’s national sport, and the country has a rich history of success in the sport. Having won a total of seven gold medals in previous Olympic Games, all of them in badminton, Indonesia continues to be highly competitive on the international stage.
