[Saba Sports News] In the recently concluded Coupe de France final, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Lyon 2-1 to claim the championship. However, what came as a surprise was the serious conflicts that erupted between fans from both sides outside the stadium. This unfortunate incident resulted in 38 injuries and 10 arrests. The police later issued a statement confirming that “30 fans sustained injuries, with 14 of them requiring medical treatment.” Additionally, eight police officers suffered minor injuries. The altercation involved two Lyon buses and four PSG buses, with one bus being set on fire. This incident caused a fire at the toll station and damaged two other buses. The fans of both clubs have long held a strong rivalry and animosity towards each other. This is not the first time such clashes have occurred. Last year, Lyon fans threw fireworks at PSG’s home ground, leading to confrontations and even the interruption of a match. To prevent fan conflicts, it is suggested that strict security measures be implemented, including separate areas for visiting team fans, the establishment of a rapid response mechanism, and the development of a comprehensive security plan in close cooperation with the police.
