[Saba Sports News] This weekend, Formula One will return to the streets of Monte Carlo for the 81st time. Last year’s race saw 22 overtakings, the highest number since 2011. However, the narrow and twisty track in Monaco may not be ideal for the current generation of racing cars, which are approximately 5.5 meters in length, with the extended rear swing making overtaking challenging. This raises the question: How can the Monaco Grand Prix be made more exciting? Lewis Hamilton, in interviews with PlanetF1.com and other media outlets, expressed that the risk of collisions in Monaco is very high, and overtaking is difficult. He recommended that the organizing committee introduce unique competition formats, such as using tires that force more pit stops, adding interest and creating more variety in the race. Hamilton believes that the organizing committee should explore new plans for specific tracks instead of adhering to the same rules. Daniel Ricciardo also participated in the discussion and suggested a more radical idea of conducting a “three-day time trial.” Drivers would have nine hours a day on the track and could choose the optimal temperature for their timed runs.
