[Saba Sports News] A game controller produced by Thrustmaster has reportedly been released this week. It is an exact 1:1 scale replica of the steering wheel used in the Ferrari F1 Team’s SF1000 race car during the 2020 season. The wheel features various customization options to enhance the simulation experience. It includes 25 operating buttons labeled OIL, RADIO, and DRINK, similar to the original SF1000 model. The strategically placed buttons ensure easy access and operation during gameplay. Additionally, the steering wheel is equipped with seven rotary encoders around the thumb area and below the 4.3-inch display, allowing users to conveniently assign various controls. The Formula Wheel Add-On’s display can show up to 69 different racing information, and it also incorporates 21 LEDs, with 15 dedicated to displaying engine speed and six arranged in two rows of three to indicate guard flags and other essential racing signals. The steering wheel’s structure consists of a 3mm thick panel made of 21 layers of carbon fiber, ensuring durability and a high-quality feel. The grips are made from textured rubber, and the paddle shifters feature push-pull technology, replicating the mechanics of an actual SF1000 race car’s steering. The gaming steering wheel is officially authorized by Ferrari and will be available for purchase on May 21, 2024, with an approximate retail price of US$450.
