[Saba Sports News] Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton left Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday due to a hamstring injury. Haliburton exited at the 3:44 mark of the third quarter and did not return, with the injury being diagnosed as left hamstring soreness.
The injury occurred while Haliburton was defending Celtics star Jayson Tatum, his left leg buckling as he slid laterally. Before his departure, Haliburton scored 10 points on 4/8 shooting and recorded 8 assists in 28 minutes.
Without Haliburton for the rest of the game, the Pacers lost 126-110. The two-time All-Star had previously suffered a Grade 1 strain on the same hamstring earlier in the season, causing him to miss 10 games in January.
Haliburton admitted he rushed his recovery to remain eligible for an All-NBA nod, eventually earning 3rd-Team All-NBA honors, which entitles him to a more lucrative maximum contract extension.
