[Saba Sports News] In the men’s singles final of the Thailand Badminton Open that concluded last week, Malaysian player LEE Zii Jia emerged victorious against Hong Kong player Ng Ka Long Angus to clinch the championship. Following his win, Lee Zii Jia displayed great excitement and imitated the celebration gesture of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford after scoring. Based on the photo, Lee Zii Jia executed a finger-to-temple gesture that closely resembled Rashford’s celebration. In the post-match interview, Lee Zii Jia mentioned that he is a Manchester United fan, hence why he mimicked Rashford’s celebration method. The intention behind it was to help him remember this moment, speak less and act more, just like the advice his elder brother, world champion Chen Long, had given him – to be true to himself. It has been reported that Rashford has filed for trademark registration of this celebration with the British Intellectual Property Office. The law will protect it for ten years, encompassing various areas such as computer games, digital images, sports equipment, books, etc. Rashford and his team reserve the right to take legal action against third-party entities that commercialize related images without authorization.
