[Saba Sports News] Dutch badminton star Mark Caljouw, who had secured an Olympic quota, announced on social media that he would not be able to qualify for the Paris Olympics due to the Dutch Olympic Committee’s refusal. Instead, the men’s singles quota was given to Swiss player Tobias Kuenzi. Despite Caljouw’s chances of winning a medal being slim, it is puzzling that he earned a spot but cannot participate. The Dutch Olympic Committee could have allowed other players from their own country to participate, but they chose to give the quota to the Swiss team. This decision has raised eyebrows. Caljouw has been a prominent figure in Dutch badminton, winning titles and training with Viktor Axelsen. The International Badminton Federation should take strict action against the Danish Badminton Federation for this unacceptable behavior.
