[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona is preparing to dismiss coach Xavi, which may entail a significant financial cost for the club. Prior to renewing his contract with Barcelona in September last year, Xavi’s annual salary was €4 million, with his coaching staff receiving a total of €1.5 million. After renewing the contract until 2026, Xavi’s annual salary increased to €8 million, with his coaching staff now earning a total of €4 million. In other words, Barcelona may have to pay €12 million to part ways with Xavi and his coaching staff, which partly explains why Joan Laporta did not terminate Xavi’s contract during the team’s poor performance. However, the situation has changed since the announcement that Xavi would stay in office. Several individuals close to Laporta have called for changes and the dismissal of Xavi. For various reasons, Laporta did not travel with the team to Almeria, and it’s another senior manager accompanying the team, who has consistently supported Xavi.
