[Saba Sports News] F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali recently revealed that he is willing to consider introducing new engine rules starting in 2030 to improve the engine noise. He hopes that the F1 engine can bring a unique sensory experience to the fans. Some media suggest that if the biofuels introduced by F1 from 2026 are successful, F1 will consider a completely different engine form for publicity. According to data, after F1 introduced the V6 turbocharged hybrid engine in 2014, the V6 engine has been the subject of complaints inside and outside the paddock for the past ten years. Based on current consultations, it is highly probable that the 2026 engine version will still not meet the fans’ sound requirements. Therefore, the relevant persons in charge of F1 and the FIA have set their sights on the more distant year 2030. From a commercial perspective, I believe that Liberty Media Group will try to change this status quo. It is likely that F1 will return to the previous V8 engine era. In the editor’s opinion, if F1 can successfully promote this engine rule reform, it will be good news for all fans. Racing is originally a sport that pursues speed, but now we have to consider environmental protection and fuel saving, which is a bit funny.
